OP-17 -The World's Strongest Warriors- releases August 28, 2026 in English, at $4.99 per pack. As of August 8, 2026 the sealed booster box asks $372.33 on TCGplayer and €308.65 on Cardmarket — the most expensive One Piece box in our data that nobody has opened yet, and 77% above where OP-16's box sits eight weeks after its own release. The card list is effectively complete at 131 types.

When does One Piece OP-17 release?

August 28, 2026 is the English street date. Bandai's own product page for BOOSTER PACK -THE WORLD'S STRONGEST WARRIORS- [OP-17] lists a pre-release date of August 21, 2026, an official release of August 28, 2026, and USD $4.99 per pack.

If you have seen August 22 on a release calendar, that is the Japanese schedule and the pre-release weekend rather than the English launch. Cardlogs' own pre-release seeder carries August 22 from the community leak calendars while TCGplayer and Bandai both say the 28th — we publish the 28th because it comes from the publisher. The gap is worth knowing if you are timing a preorder, because the pre-release weekend is when the first singles hit the secondary market, a full week before boxes reach shelves.

One more scheduling note that matters for price: OP-17 is being described as the first main One Piece booster to launch on a single global date. That removes the usual week-long Japanese head start, which is normally when the earliest English price discovery happens.

What is in the OP-17 card list?

Bandai lists 131 card types plus 4 DON!! cards. Cardlogs' pre-release catalog, seeded from the community card-reveal feeds and served live on the OP17 set page, currently holds 168 preview entries across 132 distinct card numbers — and the arithmetic lines up exactly with Bandai's count:

• 120 base OP-17 prints
• 11 SP slots printed on other sets' card numbers (see below)
• 120 + 11 = 131, matching the official type count

That is the strongest signal available that the base list is done and only parallel treatments are still filling in. The rarity split of those 120 base prints matches or exceeds the projected rarity table on every line:

On top of the base list sit 48 parallel prints: 30 alternate arts, 6 manga treatments and 12 SPs.

The two Secret Rares are OP17-118 Rocks.D.Xebec (Blue) and OP17-119 Loki (Black).

One caveat on completeness: Bandai's rarity list for OP-17 names a Treasure Rare tier, and no Treasure Rare appears in the leaked list yet. If you are counting on a full picture of the chase layer before the 28th, that tier is still missing.

Which OP-17 cards are the chase cards?

Two structural facts separate OP-17 from a normal One Piece set, and both are visible in the pre-release data rather than in marketing copy.

The first manga Leader. OP-17 carries six manga-treatment prints: OP17-079 Monkey D. Luffy, OP17-005 Edward.Newgate, OP17-022 Shanks, OP17-062 Kaido, OP17-112 Charlotte Linlin and OP17-118 Rocks.D.Xebec. The Luffy is a Leader — and according to Cardlogs' One Piece catalog, that has never happened before: 25 card numbers already carry a manga print, and not one of them is a Leader slot across 173 English Leader rows. Manga treatments are the single most reliable value tier in the game — the existing manga prints in our catalog run from $545 to $5,700 on TCGplayer — so a first-of-its-kind manga Leader is the card the whole set will be priced around.

The SP slot is almost entirely reprints. Eleven of OP-17's twelve SPs are alternate arts of cards that already exist, printed on their original card numbers; only OP17-062B Kaido is native to the set. That is unusual, and it is useful, because those cards already have price histories. Here is what today's best existing print of each one costs — not the OP-17 SP, which does not exist yet, but the card it is reprinting:

Every row above clears the Cardlogs cross-venue check: a second marketplace — Cardmarket at the day's ECB rate, or the eBay sold median — prints within 30% of the TCGplayer figure. Two of the eleven slots did not clear it and are left out rather than ranked: OP13-028 Shanks (alternate art) at $11.00 against €18.08 on Cardmarket, and OP14-108 Silvers Rayleigh at $3.27 against €1.75 with no eBay sale.

The read: the SP tier is being built out of mid-value characters, not out of the $2,000 manga chase. Nine of eleven reprinted cards sit under $100 today.

How much does an OP-17 booster box cost right now?

All figures August 8, 2026; euro conversions at the ECB rate of 0.86693 for August 7.

The two marketplaces agree: Cardmarket converts to 0.96× the TCGplayer price, comfortably inside the 30% band we require before a number takes a headline slot. The case does not argue with them either — $4,594.28 across 12 boxes is $382.86 per box, 1.03× the single-box ask. There is no case discount on OP-17, which is what a market that expects the product to be tight looks like.

Retail pre-order listings put the box at 24 packs of 12 cards. At Bandai's $4.99 MSRP that is $119.76 of packs inside a $372.33 box — 3.1× MSRP before anyone has opened one.

The ask is also still moving. According to Cardlogs market data, the OP-17 booster box has gone from $331.23 on July 31 to $372.33 on August 8, 2026 — up 12.4% in eight days — but that path is not a straight line: it spiked to $432.26 on August 3 and has given back 13.9% since. Preorder pricing on a set nobody can buy yet is a thin market of a handful of listings, and it moves like one.

Should you buy an OP-17 box before release?

This is the one question our data can actually answer, because Cardlogs has been recording One Piece sealed prices daily through a full release cycle.

OP-16 -The Time of Battle- is the only set for which we hold a complete pre-release to post-release booster-box record. It released June 12, 2026. Here is the whole arc, from TCGplayer:

According to Cardlogs market data, OP-16's booster box fell 35.6% from its pre-release peak to its post-release trough, and 57 days after launch it is still 23.9% below the price people were paying for it three weeks before the set existed.

That shape repeats on every recent One Piece set we have daily data for:

• OP-15 Adventure on KAMI's Island (released April 3, 2026) bottomed at $206.08 on June 14 and has since recovered to $253.06 — up 22.8% off the low.
• OP-14 The Azure Sea's Seven (released January 16, 2026) opened at $256.91 the day after release, bottomed at $209.94 on March 4 — 47 days later, down 18.3% — and now trades at $259.42, 1.0% above its day-one price.
• OP-13 Carrying on His Will (released November 7, 2025) bottomed at $396.23 on July 14 and is back to $482.42, up 21.7%.

Four sets, one pattern: the box bottoms out roughly four to seven weeks after release and then grinds back. Nothing here says OP-17 will trade at $372 in October. It says the pre-release ask has historically been the worst price of the cycle to pay, and that the buyer who waited a month has consistently done better than the buyer who preordered.

What we deliberately cannot tell you yet: OP-17's Box EV. Cardlogs Box EV is the expected singles value of one sealed box, computed from the live market price of every card in the set weighted by its pull rate. OP-17 has zero priced singles in our database, because no singles market exists before a pre-release. Any EV number published for OP-17 today is built on a handful of preorder asks for chase cards and nothing else, and it will be wrong in the same direction every time — inflated, because the commons that dilute an EV have no listings yet. We hit exactly this on Riftbound's Vendetta, which read 307% of box cost on a partial card list and settled at 77% once the full set was priced.

For the sets where we can compute it, here is where the box math sits today:

An EV above 100% does not mean opening boxes prints money. Box EV is an average dominated by a small number of chase pulls, so the median box comes in well under it — the number tells you how much value the set is carrying, not what your box will contain. OP-16 currently carries the most, which is the more interesting read: the set that fell hardest is also the one whose singles now outweigh its box price by the widest margin.

For context on the market OP-17 is landing into, the Cardlogs Market Cap Index for One Piece — a chain-linked index built from same-card price pairs, so new cards entering the catalog cannot inflate it — is up 3.1% on TCGplayer, 6.3% on Cardmarket and 9.7% on eBay sold prices over the 30 days to August 8, 2026. That is a market rising on its sold side faster than its ask side, though as our cross-game market cap study found, One Piece's index gain is concentrated in a very small number of cards rather than spread across the board.

Where this data comes from

Cardlogs aggregates prices nightly from TCGplayer, Cardmarket and eBay sold listings (via PriceCharting) across 6,618 TCGplayer-priced and 11,433 Cardmarket-priced English One Piece cards, plus PSA and BGS population data. Sealed products are tracked the same way, with a daily price row per set per marketplace — that daily series is what the OP-16, OP-15, OP-14 and OP-13 arcs above are read from.

The OP-17 card list comes from our pre-release catalog, which seeds sets from community card-reveal feeds weeks before any marketplace lists them; it holds catalog metadata only, never prices. Release dates and MSRP come from Bandai's official English product page. Euro figures convert at the day's ECB reference rate from our fx_rates table.

Ranked and headline prices pass a cross-venue check: a card or product takes a ranked slot only when a second marketplace prints within 30% of the TCGplayer figure. Rows that fail are named with their gaps rather than quietly dropped.
